Welcome, 2013

Another whirlwind holiday season has come and gone.  Sigh……  We do love the holiday season at Mini Bazaar.  This time of year is so exciting for us too, as we leave for market to see what’s in store for next year, along with all of our New Years resolution thoughts.  We’d better get something written down, or they will stay as just that…thoughts.
It doesn’t take us long to welcome the sights of spring, though.  The merchandise is coming and we are still packing Christmas.  We’re planning on being ready to open again with all our springness on March 6th!  HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!  Thank you for such a wonderful 2012.  We love and appreciate our wonderful customers!

the Holidays at Mini Bazaar

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.”

Calvin Coolidge

I’ve always thought that the reason Christmas is in December is because you should always  save the best for last!  Christmas and all it brings is simply the BEST!

We’ve enjoyed working with our Christmas merchandise more than you can imagine.  Who knew we could have so many favorites!  One thing for sure is just by adding some silver, gold, or platinum to any display, it truly comes to life.  We pride ourselves in our abundance of glitter, and glitter is awesome.  But, the touches of metallic in the ribbons, the finials, the angels, the lighting, or even the deer are simply delightful.  Be sure you pick up some silver or gold to add to your favorite displays.
Our lacy, tall snowmen which I believe are meant for outdoors, are the perfect touch for an indoor display.   And using your lanterns warm up any holiday decor of course.
We all feel so thrilled to have the holidays upon us, and of course, this Thanksgiving weekend, we feel so grateful!   Our son in law, Jason is recovering nicely, and even working hard to break away from North Carolina….possibly as early as February.  (if things go smoothly….with no problems)  As I talk to everyone at the store I find that everyone is always going through something, and I look up to each and every on of you for going forward and carrying your load.  And most of all for being positive and grateful for all we have.  Happy Thanksgiving weekend and happy Christmas shopping to everyone.  ENJOY

HALLOWEEN……and so much more

What a whirlwind spring and summer!  Things are settling down and going great, both at the store and personally.  Most exciting…our son-in-law, Jason, is officially listed on the lung transplant list at Duke University Hospital in North Carolina.  He hopes to receive his double lung transplant soon.
And…. we finally had our heat/air conditioning updated and installed at the store, and hope to make it more comfortable for everyone.  YEA!!

We really got a bug, painting (notice the stenciling on the fireplace) and tearing down the displays when we started cleaning out our summer merchandise.  We have some awesome and eerie displays that you just have to see for yourself.  So dang fun!  My personal favorite is our umbrella witch….if you have trouble finding her, just ask…
Hours 10am-6pm
Wed-Sat
through Oct. 13th.
We hope you are having a wonderful fall…..and it is wonderful here in Idaho Falls.

Still loving green!

I know that I mentioned green in our note before we opened in March, but when spring arrives, I just crave green….so much that I have to bring it inside the house, too.  (Although, I must admit, that I’ve been taking the robins nest out of the wreath on our front door, every time they build it this year.  I don’t really like the white streaks down the door that they leave behind.  So much for the cute little baby birdies.)
We’ve got great green in our moss mats, small pots, and of course our ornamental balls.  Green is great!  We’re patiently waiting for more freight to arrive before we open on May 4th, and also bringing out the fun summer merchandise.  I know I say it for every season, but it’s just such an exciting time of year, and this may be my favorite.
On a personal note, we are so excited for our son-in-law, Jason.  He has finally received his call to go for his evaluation at Duke in NC, in preparation for his lung transplant.  He is truly an inspiration to all of us, and actually anyone that meets him…including his doctor in LA.  It’s going to be a long hard road ahead, but he’s ready.
So, come on summer.  We are ready.  Mothers Day, Graduation, Fathers Day, Weddings, Baseball, 4th of July, whatever.  We love this time of year.
Summer hours….Fridays and Saturdays   10am-5pm   through July 28th

Mark the date, March 7th

We are ready to open the door to spring! We are discovering that some very ordinary items can create breath-taking spring displays. We suggest using green for sure, going to the birds for a cheerful attitude, and maybe even faking it for color.  I used to really dislike fake flowers, but that was before the fabulous lifelike foliage that is available now! We can truly enjoy beauty inside even when it’s gloomy outside.
We’ve got really great spring décor along with fabulous new art, mirrors and lamps. The place is just stuffed with new merchandise so it’s definitely time for us to open and share with you. If you are looking for a few things that you just can’t live without…come see us.
We’ve got it! (And of course, bazaar bucks on your purchases)
Come and enjoy making your place…no place like home!
March 7-April 14
10am-6pm
Wed – Sat

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of you and I hope that your RESOLUTIONS are all set and ready to go….again. I know mine are and I’m feeling hopeful!

We want to thank all of our customers for such a fun holiday season.  Watching all the beautiful decor going out the door and to your homes made me imagine tons of beautiful  trees and displays.
Such a fun time of year!  I don’t know when I’ve been more excited to get to market and see what’s in store for the upcoming year.
We leave next week.

Meanwhile, we are back at the store packing up Christmas and yes….receiving tons of spring.
It’s almost surprising to step outside and remember that it’s still winter.
We are hoping to be ready by March 7th for our Spring opening!
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Christmas Has Arrived At Mini Bazaar

Christmas has officially arrived at Mini Bazaar. We can’t wait for you to come and see what we’ve been doing for the last three weeks. Our trees are just amazing and the Christmas 2011 decor will simply sing to you. We couldn’t get enough of everything that we loved for our mantel, so we just had to create a couple other “mantel” areas in the store. The entire store is filled with Christmas excitement and we are thrilled to share it with you. Come in and see us beginning, Wednesday, Nov. 9th. We’ve received more shipments of every day merchandise too, so you can touch up any area that you may want to look extra special for the holidays. The gifts to go are all bagged and ready, so get your list completed and come on in. The holidays are right around the corner, so we have prepared gifts for everyone.
Come and enjoy the fun:
Nov. 9th-Dec. 17th
Wednesday through Saturday
10am-6pm
except Thanksgiving weekend…just Friday and Saturday
We look so forward to seeing you!

Oh, What Do You Do In the Summertime?

I’ve been thinking of this little song lately with our extra warm days.
Summer takes us outside and I do love a beautiful yard.  Thank goodness my husband does too, or it wouldn’t happen at our place.  There are certain spots I make sure I drive by during the summer in Idaho Falls.  The city gardeners have done themselves proud.   That flower bed out on Holmes is to die for.  The surrounding neighborhood has followed suite and there are tons of great door yards to enjoy.
You probably shouldn’t judge a home by it’s exterior, but it’s hard not to do that when it is truly what most people see.  You don’t have to break the bank by putting a fresh coat of paint on the front door or even update old light fixtures.  (I’m on the hunt for some right now)  Add a splash of garden pots and a wreath or basket filled with flowers on the door, and you’ve done it!  A great entry to that place you call home.  Sometimes the smallest thing can make it seem exciting and wonderful again.  I love the feeling of “there’s no place like home”.

Summer at Mini Bazaar

Just a quick note to say that we are feeling summer at Mini B.  With the warm weather and the nice rains, it truly feels like summer.
We are super excited to say that Millie and Alan get home from their mission next week.  So for everyone that has been asking…Millie will be back in town.  We can’t wait until she gets a minute to come and see us!
Fri and Sat’s during June and July.  10am-5pm   or by appt.
